Who We Are

Water 4 Kids International, a division of the 501c3 organization, Hope 4 Kids International, is restoring hope to thirsty families and communities through safe water best practices around the world. W4KI identifies and integrates unparalleled permanent water solutions such as deep-water well drilling, vital hygiene and sanitation educations, safe water chain sensitization, and paramount operation and management training that will allow thirsty communities to thrive for generations with this holistic approach to safe water equity and sanitation.

Our Mission

W4KI is reaching out to the thirstiest communities around the world that are suffering from safe water security by providing long-term access to clean water through life-saving deep water wells and other sustainable water solutions.

In addition to providing generational safe water security, our mission is to transform thirsty villages into thriving communities. We’re equipping recipient villages to maintain their water projects through operation and management training, teaching them about the safe water chain, hygiene/sanitation and sharing the Gospel in an effort to bring hope and healing to those that have never tasted safe water.

Dr. Steven Malinga (Nov. 2006)

Our History

In 2006, H4KI constructed and dedicated a 66-bed hospital in Tororo, Uganda. Dr. Steven Malinga, the Uganda Minister of Health shared at our dedication, “Your hospital is saving lives, but your wells are saving even more.” Although we have drilled a number of wells several years prior, Dr. Malinga’s declaration was a real revelation to our organization. We focused our efforts in the village to not only learn how people were suffering from the lack of safe water security but also how we could make a long-term generational impact with our deep-water wells. Fourteen years later, W4KI has drilled over 800 deep-water wells in eight countries including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, India, Liberia, The Philippines, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

Our Team

As a registered NGO in Uganda, the Water 4 Kids International team oversees every aspect of the W4KI program including village identification, assessment and registration, drilling contract negotiation, drilling process supervision, government collaboration and community sensitization. As a vertical division who has been working systematically in the field for fifteen years, our team has assembled best practices for every aspect of the drilling process and community involvement to ensure life-saving boreholes will be open and fully-functioning for 30-50 years.

W4KI periodically conducts borehole evaluations to critique processes and community ownership to galvanize the effectiveness of procedures, installation materials and community management.

In addition, these proven processes have been carried over to our ministry partners around the world to ensure these gold standards are being conducted during all stages of the drilling process.
